Restaurants
Blue Moon Tap House
Believe it or not, Blue Moon has a tap house in Casco Viejo! Located at Plaza Herrera, this two story restaurant offers Blue Moon cocktails and a wide variety of their beers on tap. They also serve delicious food – we highly recommend trying the popcorn cauliflower!
Cafe Unido
No trip to Panama would be complete without trying their famous geisha coffee. Geisha coffee is known for its tea-like taste and is some of the most expensive coffee in the world. In 2021, it was selling for $2,500 per pound. Cafe Unido offers samples of geisha coffee along with delicious breakfast sandwiches.
Diablicos
If you’re looking to try some authentic Panamanian food, head over to Diablicos. The restaurant is known for serving up classics such as sancocho, ropa vieja, and arroz con pollo. We suggest making a reservation in advance by calling the restaurant.
Mercado de Mariscos
Mercado de Mariscos is one of the most famous eateries in the Casco Viejo area. Situated along the waterfront, this open air seafood market consists of food stalls serving up fresh seafood and traditional dishes. Make sure to try the ceviche, and don’t forget to bring cash!
Mezcalito
If you’re looking for some Mexican food while in Casco Viejo, definitely check out Mezcalito! The restaurant offers a great atmosphere with outdoor seating along a charming street. The carnitas three chiles tacos and churros were our favorite items on the menu.
Nomada Eatery
Nomada Eatery is the perfect spot for a delicious breakfast. The restaurant is also friendly to those with dietary restrictions, offering plenty of vegetarian options. In addition to a great menu, Nomada Eatery also sells a variety of local art, making it a great place for some souvenir shopping.
Rooftop Bars
CasaCasco
CasaCasco is a must-visit while in Casco Viejo. Located on the fifth floor, this rooftop bar offers views of both the sea and the Panama City skyline. The menu consists of signature cocktails, wine, beer, and small bites. CasaCasco is located at Plaza Herrera.
Lazotea
Located on the outskirts of Casco Viejo is the Lazotea Rooftop. Lazotea is known for its great mixology and extensive food menu. During the summer months, they frequently have live music and rooftop pool parties.
Tantalo
Tantalo was by far our favorite rooftop spot in Casco Viejo! Located on the top of a hotel, Tantalo offers stunning views of the Panama City skyline while serving up creative cocktails and fresh food. We highly recommend trying the mac and cheese, patatas alegres, and flower power dishes. Check out their menu here.
